Job Description

  • Read and analyze project requirement specifications. 
  • Read and analyze requirement specifications.
  • Produce high and low level design documents (ie. application diagrams, flowcharts, sequence diagrams, etc.).
  • Write well-designed and testable code. – Perform code reviews to maintain code quality
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade existing systems.
  • Plan, design, and manage cloud infrastructure, including setup, maintenance, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate closely with team leads to align with the system architecture.
  • Undergo training on AWS Cloud Technologies to be able to handle Cloud related tasks for new hires with zero or minimal AWS experience. For experienced hires, it is an upgrade to your AWS skills.
  • Support continuous improvement like R&Ds on alternatives and new technologies.
  • Guide junior and co-senior dev members, providing assistance when needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related fields 
  • At least 3+ years of experience with Node.js and backend development
  • Experience in application design (UMLs, sequence diagrams, ERD)
  • Proven work experience in Web application development and REST APIs
  • Experience working with Relational Databases (ie. MySQL, Postgres, etc.)
  • Git proficient
  • Knowledgeable on software engineering tools (ie. Jira or similar, UML tools, slack, etc.)
  • Good problem solving skills and attention to detail

Nice to Have

  • Basic/Proficient Linux skills 
  • Experience in using Docker 
  • Front-end skills (React, Angular, or Vue.js) 
  • Experience in AWS, DevOps

Extra Awesome

  • Business-level Japanese communication skills
  • N1/N2 Level (we offer a good incentive)
  • Working experience as JP on-site engineer for more than a year.
